Bonnie takes a leaf out of Kat’s look book.
We all know that celebrities tend to try their hand at several different things, making the most of their 5 minutes, but it’s rare that they succeed at more than one thing. Whether it’s putting out an album, making a cameo appearance, writing a book or creating a perfume it’s their name that sells it, not their talent. But 20 year old Katerina Graham is the complete opposite; she’s trying everything and seems to be good at it. We can’t decide if we love her for her amazing skills or hate her because we’re so jealous (probably a bit of both!)
In her short career she’s danced behind the biggest artists, sung on tracks on her own album and others, gotten a degree in recording engineering and acted in some of the biggest movies and TV shows. And, as we’ve seen on the red carpet recently, she’s got a fashion sense and wardrobe to die for. So with a finger in every entertainment pie you’d think Kat would be happy concentrating on one thing at a time, but being intensely motivated to succeed, she’s not stopping there. After starring as Bonnie Bennet in the brilliant The Vampire Diaries she’s gained even more notoriety, and she’s already talking about the highly anticipated second season.
For Bonnie life isn’t so simple; she’s a witch who’s just getting used to her powers, she lose her grandmother and mentor and her best friend is going out with a vampire. And Bonnie does not like the vamps. Top it all off with being a teenager in the town of Mystic Falls and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. So what can we expect in the first episode back? Well Kat says: “that Bonnie is really, really tough in the first episode back. She is not playing around. Bonnie will eff you up if you mess with her! She is also going to have to deal with Katherine. And that’s a whole new beast. Literally.”
After seeing her part fire to save a couple of vampires she hates, she’s easily our favourite character in the series. But Kat says her powers are only going to get stronger, “But it’s important she stay vulnerable too. You don’t want someone to raise hell with no motivation behind it. You can never forget the loss of a loved one and I don’t think she’ll ever get over losing her grams. That was her rock to this world. She wouldn’t do anything simply out of a hate for vampires. I don’t think she could ever justify that.”
Well that’s certainly got us excited for season two! But for now we’ll have to re-watch the first one, and in that fateful finale we noticed Bonnie was wearing a rather lovely jacket that wouldn’t look out of place on Kat herself. The grey ruffled number is from Free People and we think it fits perfectly with Bonnie’s simple style while still hinting back to her ancestor Emily.
