Be seen dead in ruffle sleeve tops like Alice Cullen in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Follow in the most fashionable Cullen’s footsteps.
When reading Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, we all form a different idea of what the characters look like, no matter how well she describes them. So casting the film must have been pretty hard work, and dressing them even harder. Costume designer for the first film, Wendy Chuck, was praised for her choice of the BB Dakota jacket, but criticised for some of her other ideas. So when new designer Tish Monaghan joined the crew for New Moon, she had a lot to live up to. She updated the costumes, trying to make them a bit more mature and polished while remembering the characters were still teenagers, and it must have worked pretty well since she continued her job in the third instalment; The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
Tish enjoys dressing Alice because she’s “the most stylish Cullen and she’s into accessories!”, and when talking about her looks in New Moon, she said: “Alice, of course, is still a high school student and she had a very successful fashion-y look from Twilight, so we wanted to continue with that. We wanted things that looked cute and feminine on her”. It seems she’s continued this theme into Eclipse, and while she used arm warmers and scarves to cover her sparkly skin in New Moon, Alice can dress however she likes at home.
When not battling bad vamps, she’s looking out for her family, and in the clip below we see them discussing who could be after Bella. We noticed Alice’s cute tee with ruffled sleeves and fell in love with it straight away. Tish says “the whole ‘cool’ color theme is being continued with ‘Eclipse’ for the Cullen Clan,” and Alice is living (or not) proof of that in the pale grey top. Perfect for summer days, or cloudy one’s if you live in Forks, the top is simple and could easily be dressed up with a skirt and heels or down with jeans and flats.
We can’t wait to see more of the costumes from Eclipse, and there are only a couple of days to go until it’s released into theatres. We’ll be focussing on The Twilight Saga all week, so remember to keep checking back for your fix of fashion and merchandise from the films.
