Live the Movie – Casino Royale

Posted by Team Boxwish about 1 year ago

Feature_00471_live_the_movie_casino_royale_1

“The name’s Bond. James Bond.” Ever since Sean Connery uttered the immortal line way back in 1962’s Dr. No, boys everywhere have emulated the famous double-0 agent. Dressing like him, drinking like him and often accompanied with an attempt at Connery’s Scottish accent that would have real Scots in uproar. But why not? Ian Fleming’s creation has all the makings of a male fantasy figure – women throwing themselves at him, villains incapable of beating him and all wrapped up in a super suave character always ready with a clever quip. However, we’re not here to analyse the merits of Bond, countless books have been there and done that. We’re more concerned with how the magic of MI6’s most famous son can be sprinkled into our lives. And we know just the way…

Get Mickey O'Neil's look from Snatch

Posted by Team Boxwish about 1 year ago

Context_00018_snatch

Not that Mickey could ever be accused of being too well-groomed. Keeping his look street smart he adds a flourish with gold jewellery, such as rings, bracelets and chains. As an Irish catholic, he wears a crucifix, but most tellingly expresses his religious beliefs and traveller status with a pendant of Saint Christopher – the patron saint of travellers. This theme is continued with his extensive body tattoos that are vividly on show during the boxing scenes. Randomly dotted all over his arms, back, abdomen and chest, his collection includes the Last Supper and the Madonna, with other more random ones including a bulldog, a snake and flowers and cats in hats.

Scotland might be best remembered by a generation of movie-goers as the bleak backdrop for 1996’s Trainspotting, but the only thing that romantic comedy Made of Honour has with the Irvine Welsh drugs drama is actor Kevin McKidd. The actor stars as the very scottishly named Colin McMurray in the rom-com, an aristocrat engaged to Michelle Monaghan’s Hannah. Their wedding plans are disrupted when Hannah’s best friend and subsequent ‘maid of honour’, playboy Tom (played by Grey’s Anatomy’s heart-throb Patrick Dempsey) decides he wants her and attempts to win her love. The film’s action takes in Manhattan and London but it is in the Highlands, as the location for the impending nuptials, that the background really comes to the fore with Dempsey dubbing it “another character in the movie”.
