Get James Bond's gear from Quantum of Solace

2006’s Casino Royale introduced us to a new Bond – more brash, brutal and blonde than previous incarnations. In his debut outing as the famous double-O spy, newcomer Daniel Craig re-invigorated the decades old franchise and now, two years later he’s back to continue what he started in Quantum of Solace. However, despite a new actor in the central role the core character of Bond remains the same – simply given a 21st century makeover for a new generation of film lovers. If anything, Craig’s Bond is a return to the roots of Ian Fleming’s literary figure only with a few timely tweaks here and there. But one area in which he remains resolute is his love of gadgets.

Top ten Bond vehicles

Feature_00556_top_ten_bond_vehicles_1

The keen-eyed among you will have noticed that this article’s title says “vehicles” not “cars”. That was no typo dear friends, but an intentional nod to the direction of this piece which deliberately steers away from Bond’s familiar four-wheeled friends in search of more unusual and quirky modes of getting from A to B. Bond (or rather Q) has certainly been imaginative in his modes of transport over the years and it’s these unsung heroes of engineering and innovation that we want to shine a light on here.

Get Pepper Potts's look from Iron Man

Feature_00542_get_pepper_potts_look_from_iron_man

Her Hollywood CV is packed full of historical dramas, literary classics and the odd comedy making Gwyneth Paltrow the last actress you would expect to star in a superhero adventure. Think again. The Oscar-winner ditches her corsets, clipped English accent and serious image to star as Virginia “Pepper” Potts in Iron Man, an action-packed blockbuster centring on the transformation of wealthy industrialist Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) into titular crime-fighter Iron Man courtesy of a power suit. And while these armoured suits (Stark works through three) are impressive, equipped with repulsor rays, anti-tank missiles and flare launchers, its Pepper’s suits (not to mention dress, shoes and handbag) that are creating a stir in fashion circles.

Audi in Iron Man

Feature_00001_audi_rs8_iron_man

When your time is split between fighting crime as superhero Iron Man and knocking up genius inventions for your inherited engineering empire, Stark Industries, how does a playboy billionaire enjoy a little down time and relax? If you’re Tony Stark (which I’m guessing you’re not), you like to whizz about town in your Audi R8. The car features heavily in the film and is even joined by other Audi vehicles: the S5 sports coupe (as driven by Gwyneth Paltrow’s perky love interest Pepper Potts), the s6 sedan and the Q7 SUV.

America's west coast in Iron Man

Feature_00076_california_in_iron_man

For many actors, the long production shoots that take them away from their loved ones, is one of the less appealing aspects of being a Hollywood name. Sure, the fat pay cheque and international stardom must sweeten the pill, but it must be nice when a film comes along that doesn’t require you to jet off to Cambodia or New Zealand at the drop of a hat. And apparently, that is exactly one of the reasons why Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow accepted the role of Pepper Potts in summer blockbuster, Iron Man, as it was filmed in California – the studio just 15 minutes drive away from her home.

Get the boys' look from High School Musical 3: Senior Year

Posted by Team Boxwish about 1 year ago

Feature_00515_get_the_boys_look_from_high_school_musical_3_senior_year_1

It’s just over two years since High School Musical first hit UK shores and the word phenomenon comes nowhere close. Just a Disney TV movie, it should have aired, maybe shifted a few DVDs and then been forgotten. Not HSM. It defied its humble roots to break TV viewing figures, its soundtrack became 2006’s biggest selling CD in the USA and it spawned an entertainment empire that includes a stage musical, reality TV contest and an ice show. This golden touch continued with its 2007 follow-up High School Musical 2 which further established the star credentials of Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale and the musical magic looks set to continue with the franchise’s first cinematic outing, High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
