Biopic Amelia taps into cool aviator fashion trend
Posted by Team Boxwish 3 days ago
Some styles come and go out of fashion. One minute the shops are packed full of them and the next it’s like they never happened, while others flaunt a more timeless quality that sees them prove popular season after season. And one such evergreen trend is aviator style. From aviator sunglasses to bomber jackets, it’s a look that persists and looks set to fly even higher thanks to new biopic Amelia. Examining the life of legendary aviator Amelia Earhart (as played by double Oscar-winner Hilary Swank), it’s packed full of flying fashions and even boasts the cool factor of celebrated brand, Belstaff.

How much are you willing to spend on Twilight? Enough for the basics like the book and the soundtrack? Perhaps a little more on replicating Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) style with her green party dress or Dakota BB jacket or the pricier merchandise like the jewellery sets? Well, prepare to dig deep in your pockets Twifans as the Cullens’ house from The Twilight Saga: New Moon has hit the property market at an eye-watering $3,298,000! You’d definitely need the endless income of Cullen patriarch Carlisle (Peter Facinelli) for this little beauty which boasts five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Just imagine you could host a birthday party just like the one Bella has here – but without the savage vampire attack.

Leona Lewis singing the theme song for Avatar
Posted by Team Boxwish 3 days ago
It seems like yonks (yes, we said yonks – go with it) since the last truly great power ballad soundtrack song. So many of the recent musical movie efforts have been a bit more edgy and contemporary, like Adam Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment” from 2012, Death Cab for Cutie’s “Meet Me on the Equinox” for The Twilight Saga: New Moon or Linkin Park’s “New Divide” for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Hell, even that bastion of belters, James Bond even offered us something a little less conventional for last year’s Quantum of Solace by putting Jack White and Alicia Keys together for “Another Way to Die”. Good job then that we’ve got a new James Cameron flick on the horizon as the man who brought us Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” from watery tear-jerker, Titanic has roped in none other than Leona Lewis for the upcoming Avatar. Power ballad heaven here we come!

Heading to one of the midnight screenings for The Twilight Saga: New Moon this Friday? You betcha! Well, if you are, or just facing the bracing winter weather at any other icy hour, it’s sensible to wrap up warm. Okay, we know we sound like your mum and you don’t need another one of those thank you very much, but we’re concerned and would hate for you to catch a chill. Not that we’re going to go and knit you endless woolly warmers, but we have found something we suspect is just a fraction more fashionable and cool than granny’s efforts – this fantastic scarf emblazoned with the Cullen crest from The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Team Boxwish quizzed: What film best sums up your days at school/ college/ University?
Posted by Team Boxwish 3 days ago
A big Boxwish top o’ the morning to you on this, International Students’ Day. Yup, it may have just seemed like an ordinary, bog standard Tuesday, but in fact it’s a great time to reflect on your days spent in education. Of course, these might have been few and far between like the naughty bunker, Ferris Bueller or maybe you were a devoted pupil like Hermione from Harry Potter. Either way, we all have our own story of what life was (or is) like when you had to strip off for P.E., began your day with the ringing of a bell and learned the French for “where is the train station?” And if school or later education was less than spectacular, we’re also musing on which movie school we’d have preferred to attend. So enjoy International Students’ Day as we ask: “What film best sums up your days at school/ college/ University?”

eBay find: Script for The Twilight Saga: New Moon signed by cast
Posted by Team Boxwish 4 days ago
There’s no mystery about the plot of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, that’s a given, however that doesn’t stop us Twifans from keenly counting down until we get to sample its cinematic delights this Friday. And while we’re hoping that there aren’t too many drastic tweaks to the story (we can cope with Jacob (Taylor Lautner) giving Bella (Kristen Stewart) a dreamcatcher for her birthday, less acceptable would be Bella crushing on Sam Uley or the Volturi being a pack of spineless wimps), yet we can’t wait to see how New Moon’s made the transition from prose to dialogue. What will they say, how will they say it and oh, so much more. And revealing these insider secrets is this copy of the New Moon script now for sale on eBay. Oh, and it’s signed by eight Twilight stars. Did we forget to mention that?
