Back at work again after the weekend’s spooky shenanigans and everyone’s talking about their Halloween parties. What or who they dressed as, what games they played and often how embarrassingly bladdered they ended up. And for many nursing the after-effects of a memorable Halloween, there’s the inevitable look at the night’s photos, which for us humble minions means the likes of Facebook, but for celebrities it’s more like a quick flick through the papers. And we’ve been checking out the fancy dress costumes as seen on BBC hot shot Jonathan Ross and the many famous faces that attended his Halloween bash this past weekend.

The TV and radio presenter includes among his many gigs at the BBC, The Film Programme (currently Film 2009) and his passion for cinema infused his Halloween costume, dressing as goth hero Edward Scissorhands as played by Johnny Depp in the 1990 movie. And what a detailed costume it was, ‘Wossy’ donning the black fright wig, matching buckled leather get-up and sharp, pointy fingers of the Tim Burton character, displaying incredible attention to detail and probably with no expense spared (he wrote on Twitter that he had bought 40kg of pick’n’mix sweets for the occasion!)

And he wasn’t the only one of the celebrities on show working a film-inspired vibe. Comedian Jimmy Carr threw on a cape and a black mask as Latin love god Zorro, last played onscreen by Antonio Banderas in The Mask of Zorro and The Legend of Zorro. While opting for a more familiar caped Halloween favourite were fellow funnymen David Walliams and David Mitchell who bared their fangs as Count Dracula. The latter was a relatively tame affair with the Peep Show star working a black suit with red shirt and red lined black cape, while Walliams went Victorian as Gary Oldman’s Count Drac from 1992’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

This last one has long been one of Boxwish’s favourite movie monster looks and yet we’re loathe to pick a favourite. They all looked amazing and we’re looking forward to getting our invitation to attend next Halloween!
