Halle Berry wins worst model-to-actress performance in poll

Halle Berry’s had a few ups and downs in her acting career, going from the ultimate accolade – the Best Actress Oscar in 2002 for Monster’s Ball to a Razzie in 2005 for Catwoman. But now the actress has been given another of the more dubious honours – winning the King magazine poll for the worst model-to-actress performance. Who’s guessing this award isn’t going next to the Oscar on the mantlepiece? The role under question is her attempt at being a troubled psychiatrist opposite Robert Downey Jr. in horror/ thriller Gothika. Thankfully for Halle, the 2003 movie bombed and so not many people will have seen it, unlike some of the other entries on the list…

Coming in second to Berry is another Hollywood leading light, Cameron Diaz and her tough, manipulative American football boss in Any Given Sunday, though granted sharing the screen with an acting heavyweight such as co-star Al Pacino might make anyone look like an amateur. Third is Haitian-American Garcelle Beauvais who was a hit as a model treading the catwalk for Calvin Klein, but has earned scorn for her performance as Belle in Wild Wild West. While, rounding up the top five are renowned supermodels Cindy Crawford (Fair Game) and Tyra Banks (Coyote Ugly).

Still, who cares if you can act when you can earn a fortune just by walking and pouting?
