Every week we try to inject a little flair with our “fashion fix of the week” blog. Here, we’ve raided the wardrobes of celebrated style sensations such as Carrie Bradshaw and Bruce Wayne to bring you THE hottest trends. But this week we’ve decided to go in a new direction. It’s not so much a slight detour but a serious 180, as we bring you the sunglasses worn by Walter Sobchak in The Big Lebowski. But before you turn your nose up, hear us out…

Yes, actor John Goodman is not exactly famed as a silver screen clothes horse, what with his bulky size and is probably best known as a computer animation covered in blue fur (Sully in Monsters Inc.) or romping in icky animal skin (as Fred Flintstone in The Flintstones), but as Vietnam vet, Walter, the burly actor created a quirky cult figure that has proved bizarrely irresistible. As the bowling-loving, Shabbos-respecting security man, Goodman “rolls” in shorts, a fishing vest and sunglasses.

The metal aviator sunglasses are rarely taken off by Walter, and why should he? They are ideally suited for driving and outdoor pursuits and help cement his military man look. So if you fancy a stab at channeling some of Walter’s inner sex god or are just in the market for a new pair of sunnies – check these out for the next time you’re out rolling and bowling.
