Mamma Mia! to become a sing-a-long
Where do you stand on the communal sing-a-long sensation? For some the idea’s a definite no-no. Strangers belting out off-key show tunes right next to them, possibly covering their popcorn in a fine mist of spittle – no thank you. While for others, the sense of a unified audience all enjoying an innocent sing-song sounds unmissable. Well, the trend is taking another film under its wing, breaking away from past classics into the present with ABBA musical, Mamma Mia!
Currently packing them in at cinemas here and abroad, the Meryl Streep movie will be repackaged as a sing-a-long edition. This will include subtitled lyrics, allowing audiences to warble along to pop favourites such as “Dancing Queen”, “Super Trouper” and “The Winner Takes It All”. This new print will hit US cinemas on August 29th, and as always, we’ll keep you posted on when you can start warming up your vocal chords ready for when the fun hits these shores.
