Hello and welcome to autumn Boxwishers. Yes, summer is now officially over (did it ever really begin?) and so it’s time to look forward to the cosy perks of stodgy hearty food, fabulous winter fashions (check out our guide to staying hot when the weather gets cold here) and all those summer blockbusters you loved at the cinema coming out on DVD. First to hit store shelves from this year’s crop of blockbusters is Sex and the City, but if you don’t want to talk shoes and men, how’s about the crime mystery Gone Baby Gone or Brit drama Flashbacks of a Fool? We’ve got all the gos on these flicks and how you can get the most enjoyment out of them…

If you see… Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda continue to weather the traumas of men, motherhood and Mexico in THE most fashionable of films – Sex and the City.

Why Not Take a mosey around our many guides on how to get the fabulous styles of our favourite foursome. Whether you see yourself as Park Avenue princess Charlotte, sexy man-eater Samantha, Brooklyn yummy mummy Miranda or the boho style queen herself Miss Carrie Bradshaw, we can point you in the right direction. Grab the soundtrack that comes complete with a belter of a track “All Dressed in Love” from Carrie’s assistant Louise (otherwise known as Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson), or if you want to find out which of the SATC gents you are best suited to, take the test on the movie’s official website.

If you see… The story of two private investigators looking into a young girl’s abduction in the directorial debut of Ben Affleck, Gone Baby Gone.

Why Not Read the novel the film is based on by acclaimed American author Dennis Lehane. Check out the other big screen adaptation of Lehane’s work – the star-studded Oscar-winner Mystic River or watch the acclaimed HBO TV series The Wire, which starred Gone Baby Gone actress Amy Ryan in season two and has been written on occasions by Lehane – the fifth and final season is out today.

If you see… Daniel Craig ditch being Bond to star as a washed-up actor reflecting on his past in low-key drama, Flashbacks of a Fool.

Why Not Head over to the movie’s official website and try the “Flashbacks timeline” to bring back memories of your youth. The film was set on the British coast but the actual locations used were in Cape Town, South Africa – so hop on a plane to experience the movie’s sunny beaches. Star Daniel Craig spends the film wearing his own real-life clothes, but read our article on how to Get the Gear of Casino Royale to see him all togged up as the top super-spy.
