Yuck! What a filthy day. Peering outside our windows here at Boxwish HQ, the weather in our part of the world is just horrible – wet, dark, cold – all in all weather to stay indoors for. Here’s hoping that the sun is shining on you Boxwishers, but if not – don’t despair – we’ve got just the thing to brighten even the murkiest of days: the latest DVD releases. Yes, sit back and let us give you the rundown on all the exciting new home entertainment choices heading your way today.

If you see… Harrison Ford don the fedora and bullwhip of cinema’s best-loved adventurer in his long-awaited fourth outing – Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Why Not Learn how to recreate the sword-fight between Mutt (Shia LeBeouf) and soviet villain Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett) with a crash course in fencing. Enjoy the bombastic soundtrack provided, as ever, by long-time Spielberg collaborator and screen music legend John Williams. Or become the action hero and dress in the iconic fashions of everyone’s favourite explorer – Henry Jones II.

If you see… Into the Wild’s Emile Hirsch rev up for car-racing fun in the non-stop action thrill-ride, Speed Racer.

Why Not Kick-start your speed-racer dreams and get behind the wheel of a go kart (it’s how Lewis Hamilton got his Formula One big break). Dress the part by missing neon colours and leather or have fun with the Mach 6 toy from Hot Wheels equipped with flashing lights and car weaponry.

If you see… James Stewart question his place in the world in the most heart-warming and life-affirming of all Christmas classics, Frank Capra’s timeless masterpiece, It’s A Wonderful Life.

Why Not Read Philip van Doren Stern’s short story The Greatest Gift which inspired the film. Add some more angels to your Christmas decorations in tribute to Clarence. Or catch Cary Grant, Stewart’s co-star in The Philadelphia Story in his Christmas flick The Bishop’s Wife after he passed on It’s a Wonderful Life.
