Gadget of the week: Sennheiser MX W1 wireless stereo earphones
Here at Boxwish, we’re well aware that there’s a fine line between respectable admiration and gormless gushing. The former is for sensible and mature folk such as ourselves, while the latter is for young ‘uns that wee themselves a little bit over Hannah Montana. But for all our best intentions, our self control went out the window when we spotted the gadget as flaunted by Ryan Reynolds during the opening sequence of rom-com Definitely, Maybe. As political consultant Will Hayes he pounds the pavement of Manhattan (cool backdrop) listening to “the soundtrack of his life” otherwise known as “Everyday People” by Sly and the Family Stone (cool song – get the soundtrack) and on the most fantastic wireless earphones we’ve seen in a while (cool, cool and again – cool) and we’ve spotted an incredible lookalike that nabs our gadget of the week blog spot.
Hate the hassle of wires? Yeah, us too. That’s why we’ve found the MX W1, the first wireless earphone system from headphones specialists Sennheiser. With the MX W1 those clever techie bods at Sennheiser deliver an uncompressed digital wireless connection that is at the very cutting edge of wireless technology. There’s no compromise on the quality of the tunes either, with the transmitter’s multi-receiver capability providing high-fidelity stereo sound that can be listened to by two people at the same time.
The earphones are optimised for MP3s, iPods, DVD and CD players and are styled using Sennheiser’s “twist-to-fit” technology that ensures they fit comfortably however big or small your ears. And charging is no problem either as the earphones come packaged with a carry case which doubles as a quick-charger enabling up to three recharges on the move without a power supply.
They’re not cheap, but great technology isn’t. And for the gadget-lover that has it all, these wireless earphones make a perfect Christmas gift.
