Hello and welcome to another week of silver screen shenanigans here at Boxwish. After scooping an incredible four Golden Globe awards at last night’s showbiz shindig, Danny Boyle’s Indian drama Slumdog Millionaire gets the Boxwish treatment as we check out the Mumbai locations from the flick. Later in the week we’re rating our favourite Hollywood comebacks in tribute to Hollywood survivor and Golden Globe winner Mickey Rourke and there’s even some classic fashion courtesy of Moulin Rouge! But before all that we’re checking out the latest DVDs to hit store shelves today and though there’s only two worth mentioning (seems January’s a lean month for home entertainment options) there’s plenty of fun to be had with ‘em.

If you see… Stoners Dale (Seth Rogen) and Saul (James Franco) go on the run after witnessing a cop commit a murder in slacker comedy Pineapple Express.

Why Not Play the official game that sees you channel either Dale or Saul and try to collect items while avoiding pineapples here. Get the grungy look of the laidback duo with our guide to the movie’s fashions. Or settle down for a chucklefest with some other comedies from the same team such as Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Knocked Up.

If you see… Somers Town, a black and white look at the bond between two teenagers in London from celebrated Brit director Shane Meadows.

Why Not Revisit some of Meadows’s past modern classics such as This is England, Dead Man’s Shoes, A Room for Romeo Brass and Twenty Four Seven with this great DVD box-set. Take a wander to the movie’s prime shooting location – Phoenix Court, a council building in Purchese Street, Somers Town, London. Or learn about the area with Streets of St. Pancras: Somers Town and the Railway Lands by Steven D. Denford and F. Peter Woodford.

  • I don't like James Franco being all skanky in this movie. He's much yummier in Spiderman!
