Cast your minds back to last October. The country was going Bond crazy with the release of Quantum of Solace, O. J. Simpson was found guilty of armed robbery and Boxwish launched its first fashion survey. We asked our female readers to tell us about their favourite onscreen styles and you answered our call. Hundreds of you completed our short survey giving you the chance to win a £150 Topshop gift voucher and now the survey has closed, our winner notified and we are thrilled to reveal the results…

60s classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s and its leading lady the radiant Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly proved that fashion is timeless, being voted both the most fashionably iconic movie and most fashionable iconic character. The Manhattan ‘kook’ and her offbeat drama beat fellow New Yorkers Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and her 2008 blockbuster Sex and the City and Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) and the award-winning The Devil Wears Prada.

There was more love for Holly Golightly’s wardrobe as her Givenchy-designed little black dress was crowned the most iconic piece of movie fashion ahead of Marilyn Monroe’s white halterneck dress from The Seven Year Itch and the ruby slippers as worn by Judy Garland’s Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Unsurprising really after you named dresses as the most eye-catching garments from films earning nearly 50-per-cent of the vote with shoes and coats trailing a distant second and third.

Drew Barrymore’s Lucy from Hawaiian rom-com 50 First Dates narrowly pipped Emily Blunt’s snooty PA Emily from The Devil Wears Prada as the onscreen star whose style most resembles yours, though when it comes to dressing up for Halloween you generally prefer to vamp it up as either goth goddess Morticia Addams (Angelica Huston) from The Addams Family films or slinky siren Catwoman as played most famously by Michelle Pfeiffer in Batman Returns and Halle Berry in Catwoman. Halle’s Jinx (Die Another Day) was also crowned as the coolest dressed Bond girl, leaving Eva Green’s Vesper Lynd (Casino Royale) and Ursula Andress’s Honey Rider (Dr. No) in her wake.

Thanks to all that participated in the survey and we hope that you find the results as interesting as we do. So much so that we will be publishing articles on the films you love over the upcoming months with first up a look at the enticing ensembles that you so adored from Baz Luhrmann’s romance Moulin Rouge! • I like the clothes in Breakfast at Tiffanys but Sex and the City is more quirky, modern and experimental. carrie Bradshaw is a role model to loads of us and I think she should have won.

  • this may be from a male perspective, but I just don't get it, the film is pretty boring and I don't think she even looks that good in it.
