Fashion fix of the week: Green trench coat

With a name like Bride Wars you’d be right to expect some exciting bridal fashions from the new rom-com starring Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson, but the onscreen stylishness doesn’t begin and end with the big day. Oh no, the film which has gone to number three in the UK box office behind Role Models and Slumdog Millionaire is a fashion feast full of chic Manhattan clothes as modelled by the two leading ladies and we’ve picked one item as this week’s fashion fix of the week. It’s not the much lusted after Tiffany Novo engagement ring or any other more formal pieces, rather it’s better suited to this wet winter weather – a gorgeous green trench coat.

We’ve spotted this lookalike of the green trench coat as worn by Hathaway’s school teacher Emma by top high street name Urban Outfitters. It is from the LUX range by UO designers Sara and Aimee Berman and like Emma’s has chunky buttons, is double-breasted and has a belted waist. It boasts a more quirky and defined high rise collar than the onscreen version and adds a military touch with shoulder epaulets.

Made from 100-per-cent cotton, this bright trench adds a splash of vibrant colour to the dreary winter days with its lively emerald green, or if feeling less confident it also comes in blue and black. Available in a range of sizes, the best news is the trench’s revised price which has been slashed from £169 to only £79.99. Chic style at less than half the price!
