You might have noticed a rise in the number of wolves about recently, no – not actual wolves in your garden, but wolves of the were variety. Yep, they’re picking up where vampires left off (not that those sparkly blokes have gone anywhere) and we’re tagging on to that trend with another one – wolf print t-shirts. You might have spotted Dwight in the familiar Three Wolf Moon shirt in The Office, or Brett from Flight of the Conchords rocking some similarly interesting animal shirts. Inspired by this week’s release of The Wolfman (starring Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt and Anthony Hopkins) we’ve found a selection of the best movie-inspired and simple wolf tees.
It may have all started with a few spoof reviews on Amazon, but it’s ended with a huge trend. And what better way to let out your inner wolf than with a retro-cool wolf print t-shirt. Easy to wear, effortlessly cool and right on trend, the wolf t-shirt has been spotted on everyone who’s anyone. And it’s no surprise this trend coincides with the come-back of the werewolf, something that’s been missing a decent role since the 80’s. Back then we had the horror of The Howling, the dark humour of An American Werewolf in London and the high school woes of Teen Wolf.
The nineties were pretty devoid of decent wolves, but when we entered the noughties it all started again, with the goth-girls of Ginger Snaps, The Brotherhood of the Wolf and the brilliant Dog Soldiers. More recently we’ve seen the Underworld series tackle the lycans and there was some little movie called Twilight. But with the action-packed remake The Wolfman it seems werewolves are back to being cool again.
Why not show your allegiance with a Three Wolf Moon t-shirt – it’ll certainly earn you a nod from anyone in the know. And we’ve even found a Teen Wolf version for all you US customers, with a classic one to go along with it. Or why not be a bit more subtle with a simple wolf print tee? Whichever one you choose it’ll be obvious you know which supernatural beings are on top.
Do werewolves get all the girls?
