Ever wondered what it would be like to be 17 Again? Back on the basketball team, hot cheerleader girlfriend and more free time than you could even imagine now. For Mike O’Donnell (Matthew Perry) this fantasy becomes a reality when a strange incident involving a high school janitor and a bridge transforms him into his 17-year-old self (played by Zac Efron). At first Mike, or Mark as he’s begun calling himself, finds it hard to fit in at the high school he’s enrolled in (posing as his best friends’ son). He’s not quite got the clothes or the language down, and he keeps waving at his own kids even though they don’t recognise him.
But, of course, instead of bagging himself a hot girlfriend and finally becoming the basketball star he always dreamed of being, he chooses to help his kids with their problems and eventually show his wife how much he really cares. Aww (yuck). While Matthew Perry is pretty cool (or are we thinking of Chandler Bing?), he doesn’t have the best dress sense in the world. But somehow High School Musical star Zac Efron managed to impress us with his classic leather jacket.
Working the classic white t-shirt and leather jacket look (very James Dean), Mike/Mark keeps it just that with jeans and sneakers. The jacket is probably way beyond any teenagers’ budget (we guess that’s where having a 37 year olds bank balance comes in handy) as it comes from luxury travel brand Ever, and is named ‘Bronx’.
While the original jacket is out of stock we’ve found a similar one by Ever, the ‘Mulholland’, which has the same collarless neck and rumpled-look leather. And if you can’t afford the original , or fancy something a bit different, we’ve found some great lookalikes so you can recreate the stylish teen look. Just don’t go wandering round any high schools.
What would you do/change if you could be 17 Again?
