Bid farewell to Jack Bauer with awesome 24 merchandise

We've said goodbye to Jack Bauer, for now.

It’s all over. After eight seasons (or days in 24 terms), 192 episodes and almost nine years the final episode of the longest running espionage-themed television series finished last night with a 2 hour long episode. And what an episode it was, especially after Jack Bauer was stabbed in the penultimate part, leaving us to think ‘will he survive the two hour finale?’! However, since the idea of a 24 movie is currently being discusses, we thought it was a safe assumption to believe he would indeed survive, as he always does.

Back in March when Fox announced that season eight would be 24’s last day, fans were hoping another channel would be kind enough to pick up the series and give it a new home. This didn’t happen, and Kiefer Sutherland issued a statement saying: “This has been the role of a lifetime, and I will never be able to fully express my appreciation to everyone who made it possible. While the end of the series is bittersweet, we always wanted 24 to finish on a high note, so the decision to make the eighth season our last was one we all agreed upon.”

The series certainly finished on a high note and, while we don’t want to give anything away to those of you who have not had the chance to catch up just yet, let’s just say it’s left us extremely excited for the potential movie! Kiefer is desperate to extend the franchise into the realm of film, saying: “Looking ahead to the future, Howard Gordon [producer] and I are excited about the opportunity to create the feature film version of 24.” He went on to explain: “The film will be a two-hour representation of a 24-hour day…in the format of the film, it will be very feasible to go from Eastern Europe to London in the space of 24 hours, so all of a sudden there is so much more latitude. The skies have opened up!”

If you, like us, find yourself missing Jack and the few survivors of 24 and feel the film is a little far away at the moment pick up some cool 24 merch to remind yourself of the super-spy himself. Whether it’s a special ops watch, a 24 board game, CTU tee or hoodie or even a script there’s loads of cool stuff to keep you entertained.
