We all know that when you find a pair of sunglasses that really works for you then you should never let them go. Sunglasses are such an important part of your summer look – a practical essential when in the sun and a fashionable finishing touch to your outfit when the clouds gather. They’re so versatile, adding a splash of star style to the most low-key of looks and maintaining a little movie star mystique. And it’s a fashion rule that Hollywood A-lister Jennifer Aniston clearly lives by.
The stylish star is known for her brand loyalty, often championing designers both onscreen and off. Like her close chum and fellow ex-Friends star, Courteney Cox, she’s often been seen in the gorgeous jewellery of Jennifer Meyer wearing the designer’s trademark leaf pendant in The Break-Up and the wishbone necklace in He’s Just Not That Into You (find out more about it here) and is similarly known for her love of Cartier watches, the swanky timepieces making regular big screen appearances. And it’s also the case with her Tom Ford Jennifer sunglasses.
Jen has long worn these shades in her private life and she gets to keep them on in new rom-com, The Bounty Hunter starring opposite Scottish hunk, Gerard Butler. Jen plays Nicole Hurley, a feisty reporter who skips a court hearing to chase a juicy lead only for her ex-husband, Milo (Butler) to be hired as the bounty hunter charged with tracking her down. With cars chases, jumping walls and leaping off roofs, it’s pretty action-packed stuff for Jen who’s better known for her light comedy roles, but while this was a crash course (!) in screen stunts, she still somehow manages to look stylish throughout.
It’s no mean feat considering she spends much of the film in handcuffs, as Gerard remembers: “If there’s a car, she gets handcuffed to the door. In the hotel, she gets handcuffed to the bed,” recalls the 300 star. “There was a time where she had to walk around with the inside of a car door attached to her wrist, dragging it on the ground.” Not the most comfortable or chic of accessories, good job then that she’s got her Tom Ford Jennifer sunglasses as well.
Reminiscent of the celebrated Tom Ford Whitney sunglasses, the Jennifer (how aptly named) like many in Tom Ford’s current eyewear collection, are oversized with a feminine frame distinctive for its open lens feature. The frame manages to be bold without being too chunky or over-the-top and the fluid shape of the frame makes it flattering on all face types. Jen’s careful not to wear hers too dark and so favours a light brown colour combination, matching her tanned skin and sun-kissed hair for a truly summery style.
And to help you get her golden glow, we’ve found both the Tom Ford Jennifer originals and some others in a similar style working the quirky open lens look. Stunning with or without accompanying handcuffs!
Should Jen get to fulfil her dream of being a Bond girl?
