Prepare for Sex and the City 2 with gold Kara Ross clutch bags

Last year the internet was buzzing with rumours that the second instalment in the Sex and the City movie franchise would be toned down. Due to the recession Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) would have to tighten their (waist) belts and start wearing their clothes more than once. A picture of Carrie wearing a familiar Dior newspaper dress, recycled from the original series, fuelled these stories even more. That was, until the trailer was released.

Full of gorgeous clothes, fantastic events and even a luxury trip to Abu Dhabi, Sex and the City 2 is anything but cheap. And with cameos from Penelope Cruz, Liza Minelli and even Miley Cyrus, it looks like it’s going to be the top female film of the summer. Samantha’s desperately trying to stay young, Charlotte’s struggling with two kids and Miranda seems to be juggling her home and work lives pretty well. Carrie has managed to fill that huge wardrobe and life with Big is comfortable, a little to comfortable for her.

With most fashionistas drooling over Carrie’s Halston dresses or Manolo Blahnik shoes, we’re intrigued by the collection of Kara Ross handbags featured. First we saw Miranda carrying the gorgeous ‘Honey Lizard’ Amo Clutch whilst filming with her co-stars. Then we noticed the array of gold Kara Ross clutches in the shop scene in the newer trailer. With her simple designs and luxurious gold animal print, Kara Ross is a designer to keep a trained eye on.

Traditionally Kara Ross creates “statement accessories that incorporate unique materials in unexpected ways, always going back to gemstones and exotic skins” and, having only recently introduced her range of bags to the label, to see them featured in Sex and the City 2 is quite an achievement. As well as Miranda’s Amo, look out for a gold python Nero, natural python and eel Lucis and the gold python Nox in the scene where Samantha and Carrie enjoy a shopping spree.
