With only a couple of weeks to go until Sex and the City 2 hits the big screens, we’re going crazy for the fashion. We’ve already looked at those gorgeous Christian Dior gladiator sandals that Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) lived in during the first film, and some beautiful Kara Ross clutch bags spotted in the second instalment. Now we’ve decided to go a bit more casual with the lovely check shirt look she was snapped wearing on set.
Even this casual outfit has caught the eyes of fierce fashionistas, with many of the items selling out almost instantly. But we’ve put together a look to rival Carrie’s, and it’s much more purse friendly. We love her very on trend cropped tie-up check shirt (showing off an enviably flat stomach) but the original has sold out already so we’ve found some great lookalikes for the summery shirt. And of course she couldn’t wear a shirt like that with any old jeans, teaming it with a pair of high-waisted Z. Cavaricci bleached jeans. The light denim and zip hemmed, ankle grazing length with the plaid shirt almost make this outfit look a bit cowgirl, but Carrie manages to pull it off with one gorgeous pair of shoes.
The heels in question are Brian Atwood Loca pumps, in a pastel purple shade and covered in studs. Not only that but they have clear plastic sides, making them look even more interesting on. These are currently sold out but Net-A-Porter are planning on getting more in soon, so be sure register for an email when they’re back in stock. And to finish the outfit? A roomy grey Chanel canvas tote bag and (slightly out of place) neon green sweatband.
We love this laid back yet totally on-trend ensemble, and as usual it’s all down to costume goddesss Patricia Field. Sarah Jessica Parker admits that: “Pat Field is indispensable. We could not tell the story without her – period. You can argue with it and not always agree with her aesthetic but it is unique and her own. It suits these women. It especially suits my character. There are hits and misses but she loves it. She’s really good at telling the story with clothes.” We wish this outfit would give us some more hints on the plot for Sex and the City 2!
Is Carrie's laid back style as good as her more high fashion looks?
