When Jane (Meryl Steep) and Jake (Alec Baldwin) reunite, after being divorced for over ten years, for their son Luke’s graduation in New York they think nothing of it. Until their children disappear off to a party and they’re left alone in a hotel bar. After a few drinks and a dance they end up in a hotel room together with Jake feeling smug and Jane feeling guilty. Guilty because Jake is now married to the young and beautiful Agness (Lake Bell), who is desperate to have a baby.

Jane feels safe in the knowledge it was a one-time mistake, but when the affair continues and she finds herself full of energy she can’t stop it. She admits the affair to her friends who are happy for her, since they never really liked Agness anyway. But things begin to turn rocky when it becomes obvious her architect Adam (Steve Martin) also has feeling for her, and she feels it too. Are her feelings for Jake true or just nostaligia?

Mixed in with the romance and age related jokes, is some truly hilarious comedy, including Jake stripping and positioning himself cleverly behind Jane’s laptop. What he doesn’t know is that she was in the middle of a webcam chat with Adam, who comes back to find a disturbing close up on his screen.
