The Sex and the City girls are a modern bunch. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) is a writer whose column is probably moving towards a blog, Samantha (Kim Cattrall) runs a successful PR firm, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is a career-driven lawyer and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), now a housewife, was previously an art dealer. All of the women rely on modern technology both in their jobs and busy New York lives, and so it’s no surprise that there are a few updates in the new movie.
After learning about ‘backing up’ due to an unfortunate incident back in the TV series, Carrie is sticking with her Mac. But Samantha, whose PR firm is hired for a big job in Abu Dhabi, has updated her office with a HP TouchSmart 600 PC and a HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition for when she’s on the move. HP also has Sarah Jessica Parker explaining how their products help her simplify and streamline her life at work and home in their latest advertising campaign.
What’s so special about Sam’s new PC’s? Well the TouchSmart has a 23” touch-enabled HD screen, which comes in handy for both work and play. And to make full use of it, it also comes with a DVD burner, Blu-ray player and TV tuner so you can watch all your favourite shows in high definition without leaving your desk or buying a separate TV. It’s got plenty of storage for documents and photos, and comes with an Intel quad core processor. For the geekier users it can also launch all your favourite apps with a couple of taps and connect it to you Xbox, Wii or PS3!
And her new Butterfly Lovers “digital clutch” (what a great name for a laptop!) is ‘essential for playing, working and connecting on-the-go’. It’s got a high definition display, Beats audio and it looks bang-on-trend. Not only that but it’s feather-light which means you can pack more clothes and shoes without worrying about the weight limit.
If you fancy freshening up your tech but can’t afford a brand new PC or netbook, we’ve found some girly gadgets to decorate your desk. Whether it’s a set of speakers, a stylish mouse or a pink USB drive there’s plenty of pretty accessories for your PC. There’s even a mini USB vacuum for any crumbs that may fall into the keyboard during your coffee break!
