We are a small team of happy-go-lucky movie lovers. In order of appearance…
Tim, Founder and CEO
Bow down before Tim - the Boxwish equivalent of Tony Stark – who rules over his online empire with an iron fist and sparkly smile. Inspired to create a web community where movie lovers can come together, Tim quit his office job (much like Ed Norton in Fight Club) and branched out on his own. Sure, he met with non-believers, but he stayed true to his beliefs and like a real movie underdog he kept on going. He channelled the fighting spirit of Rocky, the mental strength of Spartacus and the high-kicking tomfoolery of Kung Fu Panda to bring us Boxwish. He hopes you enjoy your time here.
Katie, Head of Content
Katie’s obsession with movie minutiae hasn’t always served her well. Sure, people befriended her at pub quizzes, but after one too many Wayne’s World impressions, she was condemned to a social wilderness where she wandered alone. Now, brought into the warm embrace of the Boxwish bosom, she has finally found her natural home, allowed to witter on about films without fear of being sent to bed with no supper. Talking the blame/credit for the site’s writing, she would love to hear what other Boxwishers think of her stuff. But only if they’re nice.
Freya, Head of Research
Chances are you already know Freya. She has a gazillion friends on FaceBook and is the consummate social butterfly, but that’s not to say that she happily hangs out with any old bum. Oh no, she has impeccable standards and a sharp eye which makes her a perfect fit as Boxwish’s resident top spotter. She worships at the shrines of films and fashion, praying for an onscreen hero with top-notch tailoring. It is this serious devotion that makes Freya our go-to-gal for spotting. She could probably tell you what you’re wearing now – as you read this. That is if you sat up properly.
Nic, Head of Technology
Techies are often portrayed as nerds, but with his glasses, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and mobile phone obsession, Nic is here to challenge the stereotype. He is Boxwish’s computer whizz, who, with one wave of his magic wand, scares off computer problems and sends them running to the hills. He is a slave to his PC, only leaving it alone for occasional bathroom breaks and feels naked in public without it. This might sound like geek behaviour to you, but get to know Nic better and you realise he’s no normal geek – he’s a GIANT geek.
